So KribKaos deleted his account.

Thanks to everyone to helped spread it around. So if you take anything from this, just support artists directly and reblog and like their original work and posts and don't post it unless you have a direct source.

Thank you everyone!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heyhey y'all, hope you all had a Happy Halloween! I know I did, it was bonkers how many drinks you can have in one night.

Anyways, onto bigger things. So a few days ago, I made a post on Tumblr regarding a user who was uploading images to their blog made by ABDL artists, none of which was theirs. Here's the first post I made about it.

What really bugs me...

Is when I see people reblogging this guy - KribKaos

All his stuff is taken from other ABDL artists, both on Tumblr and deviantArt, and posting it without any links to the original artists. He even goes out of his way to post the image to his own account rather than reblog it from the original artist.

So please, do the original artists justice and reblog from their original source, don’t reblog KribKaos

So, I don't think many of you have your own tumblrs, but I feel the need to post this here because a lot of artists aren't even aware this is going on. So far the following artists have had their art posted on this blog:

:iconpieceofsoap::iconaweye::iconfawnyabdl::iconpizzabagel::iconjamjarmonster::iconthe-padded-room::iconjj-o2::iconrfswitched::iconpink-diapers::iconzee-rage-man::icontheliljdude::iconsixonesixone::iconsketchmandl:

And many more. KribKaoS has made it so there's no way to contact his blog through private messaging, so doing this is the only way anything is going to get done.

I had someone reply to my post with a few points they brought up, and I'll post that here because it's very important to get it clear why what KribKaos is doing is wrong:

USER said:

Forgive me if I sound inconsiderate, but just how much damage has KribKaos done? Don’t get me wrong, you should definitely give a little blurb saying “So and so made it, go check him/her out!”, but ultimately, it’s nothing worth doing a PSA-style announcement about.
He’s not stealing money from anyone, because he’s not hiding it behind a paywall.
He’s not taking credit for the images. Hell, you can still see the artists’ signatures on some of the images!
I doubt he’s stealing away views away from the original artists, since most people go on deviantArt, FurAffinity, or any other art site for these images. Do you really think most people only peruse Tumblr for their diaper art fix?
So please, explain to me exactly why this is worth bringing up. I’m genuinely curious, because from what I can tell, it’s benign.

34Qucker said:

It’s damaging because it cuts off the connection from the original source. When you just go and post an image without its source, and people begin to reblog the stolen content over the original content, it prevents people from being able to discover the artist’s work.

KribKaoS has literally gotten hundreds of notes on images that could have been directed towards their original creators. And he’s gotten almost 2,000 followers in only a few short months of being active. I’ve been on this website for over 2 years and I’ve barely beaked over 1,200 followers. Uploading content that’s not your own blocks off support for the original artist.

And I created the PSA because I have friends on here, friends who are artists, friends who have had their work posted by KribKaos, who were not aware that their work was being posted there.

And tumblr is a constantly growing art site. It doesn’t matter if it’s here or DA or furaffinity or that he’s not taking credit or not making money off of it.

You do not upload other people’s art without giving credit and providing a source to the original creator. Period.

So yeah, I feel I had to get this all out here, because they're still uploading images. You all do what you feel you need to do, but I'll keep trying to get this resolved because it just frustrates me so much seeing other people's art being posted and shared by someone who's stealing away attention from the original source.

I am against this type of behavior because as a struggling AB model, who has only gotten two reblogs of my photography, I understand the damage that this does to the content creator. It takes away followers and rebloggers from you and gives them to a leech.

No, the point is you were promoting something at the wrong time.

You completely disregarded the main point and instead used this as an opportunity to show off.

Kind of not cool brah.

What does being cool have to do with anything?

You used my journal as way to plug your blog, when none of your work has even been stolen.

If it was stolen that would be one thing. If other people posted their blogs that would be another thing too.

But they didn't.

You're in the wrong buddy, don't know what else to say? :/

ok, so like... I don't know anything about Tumblr at all.
I just created one to potentially help (and start a follow); is there a way we can report this guy, or is it on the individuals themselves to report each stolen art posted that is their own work?

I only know of the cancer that grows rife inside the bowels of Tumblr, so I have no clue how good / bad the upper management / moderation of Tumblr is at things that might include this. I could rant on, but this isn't the place. This place is the place where fingers get crossed and thrust through the heavens-!

11/2/15. Thank you for posting this, 34Q. I used to play "give credit where credit is due" cop over at FL with all the uncredited ABDL images I saw there...and then I just gave up, as it became exhausting. I still marvel at how inconsiderate people are vis a vis the original artists. Thankfully, we have a younger and more energetic crew like you (here) and Rosie (still being vigilant over at FL) to carry on the fight. Bravo, dude!

I've actually mulled around the idea of starting a blog similar to KribKaos'.
That being said, I love you AB/DL artists, and would never do anything to harm this community in any way!
So, what is the best way to make a blog similar to theirs that actually helps rather than harms? What exactly is the proper way to ensure that all due credit, and potential commissions, are directed back to the artists properly.?

I am pretty much incapable of producing the type of art that thrives in a forum like tumblr (I'm a novelist after all), so should I bother? I worry that my attempt to help by creating a blog that does it right may prove to be misguided and could potentially just get in the way.
I respect all of the artists here and as far as I am concerned it's your art, therefore your rules. If you all feel this idea would be a detriment let me know and I'll honor your wishes and continue not to blog
. . .Though I do think I already have reblogged a pic or two back when I was still trying to figure tumblr out. . .

Honestly, the best way to overcome it is to reblog the original artist's post on their blog. That way you're just sharing what they posted, and any notes gets redirected to them, and the source goes back to them, so more people can easily discover it.

If you want to upload art directly to your blog, which should really be done, you can provide a source either to the artist or directly to the image itself by either embedding it into the image, or providing a link in the description.

The fact that he's acknowledged he's not providing links, and continuing to upload works without their sources is what really bothers me the most.

So yeah, just find the original artist's blog, reblog and like their work there, and you're good to go.

While I do agree with you, I still don't think this is worth ranting about. Though I'm not an artist, so I guess I should just shut my filthy overly-entitled mouth, right? :X

Keep in mind that he's not just reposting one artist's art, but several artists'. The variety is probably why he's got so many more followers than you or anyone else on dA. Also, Tumblr feels very much like a "junk food" sort of site, if that makes any sense; following a blog there doesn't seem to have as great an impact as following someone on dA does.

Not to mention there are several ways of tracking the original artist down even without a source. Namely, the signature/link that's still intact on some of the images. Or asking around. Or reverse image-searching with Google. Or doing anything to bother tracking down whoever made the image(s) in the first place. If they didn't do that, chances are they weren't going to be a big fan of you to begin with.

Look, it doesn't matter that he's uploading more than one person's art. He should not be doing it period, unless he has some sort of source.

And you're very wrong on idea that tumblr is a "junk food" site. Many artists make a fair living off of commissions there. Many people promote their work there. It's a very great source to use to get your work out there. He's has over 2,400 followers. He got that in 3 months. I've been on tumblr for 2 years and barely have 1,250 followers. Do you not see how that's kind of messed up.

And yeah, you can go out of your way to track the artist down yourself, but you shouldn't have to. Most of the time, people are considerate enough to put them there themselves, because that's the proper thing to do. And only a few of the images have watermarked sources, the vast majority of the other images do not. So you can see how that's a problem.

And you're being overly-entitled, you're just making ridiculous points. You should not share art like that without a source to the original artist. The fact that he's "acknowledged" what's going on by simply leaving a message asking OTHER people to provide sources is absurd. If he doesn't have the source, he shouldn't be uploading at all.

He has added a few links to people on DA now it seems, but not many. If he did just get them from google then there would have been a link to where the art was from or at least a name. He's just being lazy.

Exactly, there's no way he couldn't find those images without going to the artist's page. And plus the one link he did post is broken.

It's very annoying, but I honestly do't know what we can do about it. I agree with you 100% Qucker and it also loses us potential commissions if people can't find us.

Has he posted artwork that was commissioned? Thats artwork paid for by fans.

He actually just added that AFTER I started doing all this. At this point, he just needs to take down the images at this point. If he was reblogging the original artists I wouldn't care. But he's going out of his way to post them directly on his blog. It's outrageous because he's relishing in how many followers he has too.

I love ur stuff 34quacker and I agree that if art is gonna be used and passed around they should at least source and confirm the actual artist and stuff. that's why im so afraid to put my stuff up on deviant art because any one can just save this stuff and just post it around without giving credit where the credit is do to the original created owner. if ur gonna post stuff from other artist I would at least expect to contact them first to see if its okay to take their stuff and post it els where as long as you have their permission and sited source for the pictures and its creator. art can be shared but at least have the sense to credit the artist and the created pictures source.

Basically yeah :/ I'm not too fussed about it, but when he's got... thousands of followers, it kinda stings when my art is probably getting passed around without a source. I wouldn't care if he just added a source, but I think the best thing we can do is add unobtrusive watermarks for now. And then god help them if they remove them.
